Saturday's 27 December round of Guinness Premiership matches produced one of the thrillers of the season. A record breaking crowd of 50000 were present at Twickenham to watch rugby live.

The crowd was expecting to be treated to something special, and both teams must have sensed the crowd's mood. Harlequins were going into the game in better form both mentally and physically. The win over Stade Francais in the Heineken Cup two weeks ago did a lot to boost the team's confidence. That win came courtesy of a Nick Evans drop-goal, which was the last action of the game.
The New Zealand International is been regarded as the Quins savior by many of their fans. Few in the 50 000 crowd, or many more following proceeding on rugby live scores were surprised when Nick came to Quins rescue once again in the dying minutes of the game. The home team seemed headed for defeat, but Nick Evans had other ideas of how the night was going to end. And when the time came, he rose to the occasion. Some good play by the All Blacks man sent Ugo Monye free to score a try on the left-hand side. Nick converted the subsequent conversion to even the scores at 26. The comeback was complete and Leicester Tiger's fans were going to share the Christmas spoils with Quin's fans.

The home team fans' were the happier of the two sets of fans. This is because defeated had seemed eminent until the last 5 minutes of the game. That is when their team turned the tide and produced a stunning display to deny the visitors a victory. Quins looked the brighter of the two teams at kick-off. The home team spotting a pink and white kit in support of UK Cancer Research drew the first blood when Nick Evans scored from a penalty kick with just 3 minutes played. The home side continued to thrill there fans with some good interlink play between Tom Williams and Jordan Turner-Hall. The visitors managed to keep the home side at bay by hitting them on the counter from midfield whenever they lost possession.

This strategy worked well for them. As the game progressed Quins found themselves on the back foot and the pressure drove them into desperate tackling. Leicester was soon after awarded a penalty when their hooker was brought down illegally. Flood put on his shooting boots and leveled the score. The game was soon to lose its flow as Dave Pearson - the referee had to award a number of penalties and send players from both sides to the sin bin. The visitors might have played a hand in Quin's comeback. Early tries from flanker Tom Croft and Johne Murphy had seen Leicester leap into 23 - 9 point lead. Quins clearly had their work cut out for them.

There cause, however, received a boost when Leicester's flanker Lewis Moody was sent to the sin bin. Leicester night got worse as they were made to pay for mistakes committed by their fly-half Toby Flood. Mike Brown, the Quins full back is the man who meted out the punishment. His rugby score saw Quins reduce the 14 point deficit to 9. "Saint" Nick then got into the center of the action and completed the comeback with a great performance.
